Math

First pick two numbers.

Then write them down on your piece of paper. Then put a sign between the two numbers that looks like +. Your numbers should look like number1 + number2.

Now you need to learn to count. the very basics are 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10. Or in word form it is
zero one two three four five six seven eight nine ten

then you need to add your two numbers, Here is how you do it. take your two numbers and then lets say your numbers are both 1. now if you put two ones together it makes 2. because of the counting 1 and 1 is 2. Because one will always make the first number go up by 1. so if your number is 2 + 1 it equals 3 because 3 is 1 more than two.

Now lets say it is a two insted of a one. Then you would make the first number go up by two. so lets say your numbers are 3 + 2, That would be 5 because 5 is two more than 3.

Now can you guess if the number is 3? If you did good job! The number would go up by 3. Example: 5 + 3 = 8. Because 3 more than 5 is eight. now I think you know how to do all the rest of the numbers. like 3 + 4 = 7 That would be 7 because 7 is four more than three.

What is 4 + 6?

(reccomended if you know addition)

First pick two numbers and the first number is bigger than the second number

than write your two numbers and put a - sign between them. It should look like this: number1 - number2.

Then you need to subtract your numbers. Here is how you do it. Take your two numbers and then take the first number and count down by your second number. So lets say i am doing 3 - 2 I would look at my counting, count down by two So 3 Take away one then i have 2 then take away one more and then i have 1 and that is your awnser!

So another way to use subtraction is counting up. Sounds but in some cases it is better. So how you do it is have the bigger number on the left and have the smaller number on the right. then you count up from the smaller number until you get to the bigger number. Example: 2 - 8 So what you would do is count from two to eight. So you would count 3 4 5 6 7 8. There and then count how many numbers it took to count to the larger number and you are done! (You start at one number higher than the number)

Examples:

8 - 2 = 6

7 - 4 = 3

8 - 8 = 0

So now with the counting, oviously 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 now 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20. Noticing a pattern? 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30. Now you probubly notice a pattern Eatch time the number on the left gets bigger every ten numbers. Can you guess the next set?

31 32 33 34 35 36 37 38 39 40. See, The number on the left gets bigger every time. But the number on the right always counts 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10. The number on the right never goes past 9. But the number on the left cant pass 9 either.

So you are probubly woundering what happenes when the number goes past 99. Well what happenes will be for a later lesson.

Count to fifty in word form.

Hundreds are when a number goes over 99. When a number goes over 99 it is called a hundred. A hundred looks like this: 100 or one hundred.

then the counting system works as normal it goes to 101 then 102 and in word form it would go: one hundred one, one hundred two, And so on.

when a number goes over 199 it goes to 200 or two hundred. This pattern repeats until it goes to 999 or Nine hundred nintey nine. What happenes for after 999 is for a later lesson.

Counting with fingers wont do anymore for addition. Lets learn a new method to do. it easy.

Standard algorythm is my personal favorite. So lets get started of how to draw it. It should look like this:

Then how to do it is add each one in each column. So 2 + 4 is 6 and 7 + 2 is 9 So now it should look like

but if the comumn goes over 10 you add one to the next column.
